Earlier today the Mosquito "TV959" of Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection at Paine Field, Washington took it's first US maiden flight after being reassembled and repainted. This represents another huge milestone in the world of warbird restoration and the wonderful work done by Avspecs and the FHC.
Hopefully some shots of her flying or at least her new paint job will make their way to DA so that they can be added to the group.
I'd also like to thank all those who have joined and contributed to the group!

Avspecs Does It Again!
The Team at Avspecs have just unveiled their third flying de Havilland Mosquito! This new one, PZ474, is painted in RAF Coastal Command colors. I'm quite impressed with the paint they've chosen. They're certainly showing a wide variety of Mosquito liveries. PZ474 will be based out of San Antonio, Texas with the Lewis Air Legends collection. We're certainly living in the golden age of WWII aircraft restorations!

More than Just Mosquitoes
Hello everyone!
I have decided to expand the group to include any and all de Havilland aircraft including those made by DHC and Airco. Hopefully this will make the group a little more open and active. If there is any DH aircraft you have artwork of that does not have a specific folder, just add it to Featured and I'll create a folder. Thank you to Daniel Wales for the great idea!

A Fresh Coat of Paint
It looks like FHC's new mosquito just got out of the paint shop and boy does she look beautiful! It is painted in the colors of “Wag’s War-Wagon” flown by Flight Officer Alan Wagner of No. 605 Squadron. Standard grey/OD camouflage with a black "Night Intruder" underside.
My only complaint is that the paint is not correct for the type as the aircraft is technically a trainer version and has no armament. Regardless, the photos on the FHC's Facebook page look great and I am hoping someone out there on DA will be able to submit some photos of her to the group.

And Then There Were Three!
Yet another de Havilland mosquito has been made airworthy! AvSpecs has successfully flown their second mosquito project, TV959. It was restored and flown for the first time in Ardmore, New Zealand today (9/26/16). It will soon be disassembled and shipped to the US where it will become a part of Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection at Paine Field, Washington. This brings the total number of flyable mosquitoes to three. Being located on the west coast, I hope someone on DA will be able to get some shot of it to share with the group. Another amazing accomplishment by the restoration team at AvSpecs!
